SMASH! PROGRAM BOOKS OVER THE YEARS

When SMASH! began there was already a similar competing event, so the initial pitch was for an alternative, indie style. This eventually shifted to a look that more well represented the Japanese pop culture focus of the event
2011 POSTER AND POSTCARDS
Because we were also promoting an after-event concert there was considerably more text to handle on the 2011 poster. With our move to the harbourside Sydney Convention Centre, blue and yellow were chosen as the defining colours.
SMASH! 2011 METRO ADS
As part of our move to a considerably larger and more prominent venue in 2011 (the Sydney Convention Centre) we ran a series of ads in the Sydney Morning Herald Metro. The aim was to present a bright and eyecatching ad that would appeal to a mainstream audience, utilising a more cartoonish art style. Attention was also paid to how well the ad would read and present in newspaper printing quality. Design and layout by me, character illustrations by Jennifer Ta.

SMASH! 2010 IN-SITU SIGNAGE
One of numerous signs created for Town hall during SMASH! 2010. Because of the numerous events and the buildings complicated layout, having clear signage was essential. Photo by Michael Lee.
2009 Print Signage
Some of the many signs that go into every event, especially during our years at the Roundhouse when electronic signs were not available.
